Spotlight on: Waterloo Region Greens
Political parties working together for a healthier environment
All five Waterloo Region Green Party associations together form the Waterloo Region Greens.
These associations include Waterloo, Kitchener-Centre, Kitchener-South Hespeler, Kitchener-Conestoga and Cambridge.
Stacey Dankert, member of the WR Greens, says the group represents a collaborative approach to politics. Most parties are isolated from each other, have a lot of people in their association and work independently, she says.
Within the Waterloo region, however, Green Party members noticed they were duplicating others' efforts, and decided to instead come together to share ideas, event spaces and knowledge to work towards a common goal.
